Circa 1900
Chinese cast iron figure of Guanyin, wearing bodhisattva garments and ornaments while seated in a pose of royal ease with one leg pendent, his hands in the 'gift-granting' (varada) and meditation (dhyana) gestures, the smiling face framed by a five-point diadem fronted by a small figure of Amitabha (Emituo-fo) above curling ribbons.
